Our kennels are brick built with a separate bedroom area. Bedrooms are cosy and complete with large raised beds. Rugs and blankets are also provided however your dogs own bedding and playthings, etc. is always an added comfort. Shieldaig does not accept responsibility for condition or safe return.
Their bedroom shelters them from the hot Spanish sunshine or rain falls. Outside their bedroom is their individual open secure area complete with partially shaded room. The whole kennel block comprises 40 Kennels and is then surrounded with a second security fence. All are brick build to avoid infection.
Our dogs get the absolute best of attention. So, please book early to avoid disappointment! In the event of owners returning before the end of the period for which the pet is booked, the full period will be charged.

Health
On entering kennels with your dog, please let us know of any recent illnesses or problems your pet may have had. Please read our section on Leishmaniasis. Protecting your dog is an important part of your dog’s continuing health whilst living in Spain. We strongly advice the use of tick collars which are available from us in the office.
An emergency veterinary surgeon is always on call 24 hours per day for any urgent or serious conditions. If we feel it necessary, your pet will be taken to the veterinary surgeon, or a veterinary surgeon called in. All veterinary costs will be added to your bill.
A current and up to date Vaccination book or Pet Passport is for the welfare of all cats & dogs and a full vaccination record must be produced and left with us during their stay.
I was reassured when Jack became poorly during his last visit to the kennels that this was noticed early and action was taken immediately. He got to see the vet the same morning and was given treatment. I am very grateful for the care and attention he was given and he made a quick and full recovery.
For some of our dogs we may use salmon oil which contains Omega 3 fish oils and other essential fatty acids that will help to maintain and optimize healthy skin and coat:
- Soothe itchy skin
- Soothe cracked paws
- Maintain shiny coat
- Hydrate dry skin
Special arrangements can be made for additional feeds if required. Before bedtime all dogs are given their special treats: Smacaroos, Boneo, chews, etc.
